This time of year the French apple brandy Calvados is just the right ingredient in your drink. The strong, earthy taste of apples blends with the spices, dried fruit and herbs in the cheeky vermouth and the noble Bénédictine. Heering adds cherries and sweetness and a good ginger beer finishes off with a fiery kick.
3 cl Calvados
1 cl sweet vermouth
1 cl Bénédictine
1 cl Cherry Heering
1 cl lemon juice
1 cl ginger beer
Shake all ingredients except ginger beer with ice and pour into a highball glass filled with ice. Top up with ginger beer.
